Oats For Breakfast

As an emerging designer, I approach my practice as a quiet act of care — guided by sustainability, sentiment, and story. I’m drawn to ornate details, nature’s textures, and forgotten nick-nacks, finding beauty in things that feel familiar and a little nostalgic. My garments are made to be lived in and loved, each one holding time and thoughtfulness at its core. Oats for Breakfast reflects on heritage and the emotional warmth of rural life in Croatia. It explores traditional costume through a modern lens, weaving together memory, domesticity, and craft. Guided by material and narrative, the work evokes a sense of home — translating the colours and textures of comforting fabrics into new forms. Through this, it becomes a quiet homage to those who came before me, connecting past and present in garments that hold story, comfort, and a gentle strength.
