Cyber-Punks
I’ve spent much of my life playing video games, and in recent years, designing games has become as fun as playing the games themselves. Much of that time had been spent designing characters, as well as exploring the narrative and worldbuilding around them. Throughout this project, I feel I have been able to finally express a comedic and vibrant nature through the design of these characters.
For my final project, I created Mark and Stephen, two 3D characters based in the far future of cyberpunk New Zealand. I wanted to be able to bring futuristic cyberpunk settings and themes to a New Zealand context, challenging the traditionally dystopian world with ideas like hope and comedy. This project has allowed me to strengthen my abilities in 3D modeling and texturing, also going further as to deepen my understanding of narrative, worldbuilding, and character design to create dynamic and engaging products.
