In-House Internship

Perfection is impossible, that’s what I kept telling myself. Imperfection is human, it’s inevitable, it’s truth. Embracing the mistakes became an important part of my design process when working in the In-House Studio internship. Throughout this experience I worked on two major outcomes; the Kānoa font and an In-house Studio resource.

‘Printed.’ was made as an accessible resource for students, staff and clients of the School of Design. This publication not only helps readers understand what happens in the In-house Studio but is also a place where you can learn how to submit an order, use the machinery, and gain some basic print knowledge in an informal and user-friendly way.

Kānoa is a custom typeface, created during Te Punaka Ōwheo’s branding with the aim of bringing their welcoming and fun nature to social media. Taking inspiration from the Ōwheo river and the street-art within it, Kānoa’s handmade design was the foundation of all other branding elements.
