“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.” –Gore Vidal
The inspiration for my designs predominately comes from the 1930’s International style of architecture and the fascinating features in historical clothing. Strong structures with pared down clean lines are a style that influences my work. Having lived in the UK for nine years and experiencing history first hand on a daily basis have also helped shaped my designs.
My 2010 collection is based on the persona of daring NZ aviator, Jean Batten, an international celebrity in the 1930’s. 2011 will see me establishing my own clothing label in Dunedin.
