The theme of this collection is the ephemeral nature of wildflowers. I used drape as a means to creating minimal-waste patterns, and all the leftover scraps were made into the fabric flowers used to decorate the garments. Plant-based dyeing was another way for me to make a sustainable collection. The fact that the garments would change colour and fade speaks of the ephemeral nature of life. The entire collection is made from natural materials, and is completely biodegradable. At the end of the garments’ lifespans, they would be used as gardening materials, and returned to the earth.
