Design revolves around people and each and every one of us have different visions on how we see things. Therefore, I believe that to be a successful designer, one should be diverse and be able to adapt to different scenarios to fulfill what the client wants and needs.
For my final project, I opted to go for an internship with Presbyterian Support Otago. This served as a better opportunity for me, as I got to experience what it is like to work in a proper workplace environment. This was two months long and I was responsible for redesigning several things for them.
I fully recommend going for an internship when you have the opportunity to, as I have a gained extra skill, portfolio work and referees during my time with PSO.
