Quinn Hawthorne

Communication – Conservation Conversations

I am passionate about design and creating work that excites my audience as much as it excites me. I believe that at the heart of a good design is a good story. Within my work, I aim to create stories that elicit emotions and humour that impacts and connects with my audience.

My final third year project involved creating a graphic novel for Orokonui Ecosanctuary. I collaborated with Conservation Manager Elton Smith on writing the novel, while I individually illustrated and collated the novel myself. I really enjoyed working on this project because I am drawn to graphic novels as a medium for visual storytelling, and it was exciting to bring such a thrilling story to life.
