Grace Black

When creating my work, I often choose to take hints or ideas from the world we live in, in the form of the ugly, the crazy and the obscure, and then build upon this. There is nothing more satisfying to me than creating something cool and unique out of something dark and unattractive. Imperfection, injustice, brutality, gloom and doom are the key ideas that I draw inspiration from to create the stories behind my designs and work. I always aim to create crazy, gritty, relatable characters that have stories that we as individuals can connect and identify with, while simultaneously building crazy, out-of-control worlds and stories around these characters with a combination of chaotic exaggeration and dull realism.
