My graduate collection is influenced by the contrast between elegance and comfort. I have explored the relationship between the use of texture, contrasting yet bold use of colour, and the juxtaposition of the garments themselves. The feeling of lightness as a silk piece brushes against your skin, contrasting with the comfort, warmth and heaviness of a chunky knitwear piece.
As a designer I value the quality of a garment, designing garments to last as long as possible, a “buy less but buy well” scheme. I value bringing enjoyment into my work and am constantly challenging myself through the use of colour, aesthetically. I like to think emotively through the use of bright colour, bringing fun and an uplifting effect on mood.
