Our Way Home
A Third Culture Kid Podcast
My name is Patty, and like you, I’m a student of life with a story to tell. I’m also a Third Culture Kid (TCK). Although originally from Thailand, I grew up partly abroad in Malaysia and Egypt.
Now in 2021, as a student at Otago Polytechnic, I’m creating a podcast called “Our Way Home” to raise awareness about the TCK demographic. My design research project uses podcasting to document and share interviews with adult TCKs.
The six of us reflect on our globally-mobile upbringings as well as how such experiences may have influenced our post-secondary school pathways. It’s an exploration of our identities and an invitation for you to explore your own, regardless of your background.
