As a designer it is my responsibility to be empathetic for society and the global future of the fashion industry. To achieve this, I feel it is important to prioritise and promote diversity. I believe everyone should feel comfortable to wear anything they like and that clothing should not be segregated into categories based on gender, race or size. I hope through my designs I can create a culture and community of people who feel recognised, confident and empowered. My collection ‘trousseau’ is an Avant-garde lingerie collection that focuses on escapism and fantasy, drawing on inspiration from Marie Antoinette and Catherine the Great who were both ridiculed for being sexually promiscuous women. This collection evokes the feel of passion, desire, glamour and power.
